Measuring Guide

HOW TO MEASURE FOR THE BEST FIT

We strongly recommend having your measurements taken by a professional seamstress, at the LEAST have someone else take them for you. Have them taken under your clothes and try to wear the same undergarments you will be wearing at the time of the wedding. For the best fit, we have provided the designers size chart next to each dress in our catalog. Once you have taken your measurements, see the corresponding designer's size chart to determine the closest size to be ordered. Bridal and bridesmaid dresses are not custom made to exact measurements. Your measurements will probably indicate one size for the "bust" and a different size for the "waist and/or hips", this is normal.. We suggest ordering according to the largest measurement. However, if a bust or waist measurement of 1-2” puts you into a much larger size than you feel comfortable with, if you go with the size smaller, gowns and dresses can easily be adjusted. Be careful when measuring as dresses can not be exchanged for a different size. A skilled tailor or professional seamstress will be able to help you obtain the perfect fit.

Bust Measurement

Measure the bust line at the fullest part . Stand naturally with your feet together. Let your arms rest by your side. Position the tape so it covers the widest part of the back and the fullest part of your bust.

Waist Measurement

Wrap the tape around your natural waistline. Stand with your stomach at its natural position. Pull the tape snug but not tight.

Hip Measurement

Stand naturally with your feet together in a relaxed posture. If you are measuring for a sheath dress, wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bottom. If you are measuring for an A-line dress, position the tape around the fullest part of your hip. Pull the tape snug but not tight.
Dress Length Only for a full length bridal or bridesmaid gown and if you are 5'9'' or taller with the heels you plan to wear with the gown. We suggest hat you order an extra length dress when available. An extra length dress is typically 3-5'' longer than the standard length dress. Most designers charge a little more for extra length, the charges may vary.
